20 December 2013 The following trainer was fined €200 for the non-notification of a Veterinary Certificate in accordance with the provision of Rule 194(v) (vi):David Harry Kelly for The Visitor at Dundalk 20th December 2013.
The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:
R.P. Cleary replaced D.P. McDonogh on Ballyadam Brook, trained by Terence O'Brien (Race 8)(Injured).J.A. Heffernan rode Tobair An Sheeda (reserve), trained by K.J. Condon (Race 8).
C.R. King rode The Hatter Glacken (reserve), trained by Gerard Keane (Race 8).

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Califante (GB), ridden by Katherine S. O'Brien, placed third and Lean And Keen, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed fifth, where it appeared Lean And Keen received interference in running. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied from the evidence offered that there were mitigating circumstances and took no further action.
The Stewards interviewed D.P. McDonogh, rider of Lean And Keen, concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards were satisfied that D.P. McDonogh was in breach of Rule 211 by failing to keep a straight line until he had passed the marker poles and consequently severely cautioned him having taken his previous record into consideration.
The Stewards interviewed C.P. Hoban, rider of Alvar (USA), concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards were satisfied that C.P. Hoban was in breach of Rule 211 by failing to keep a straight line until he had passed the marker poles and consequently severely cautioned him having taken his previous record into consideration.
The Stewards informed Tracey Collins, trainer, that Beat The Ballot would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
The Stewards interviewed W.M. Lordan, rider of Dancing Cosmos, concerning his use of the whip in latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that W.M. Lordan was in breach of R10(3)(a) by hitting his mount in front of the saddle while the whip was held in the forehand position and consequently suspended W.M. Lordan for 1 raceday.
The Stewards informed Gerard Keane, trainer, that The Black Devil would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
337C Dundalk - Racecourse Of The Year M'dnThe Stewards fined Joseph G. Murphy, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Daredevil Day, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
The Stewards fined Luke Comer, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Dancingatmidnight, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
The Stewards enquired into the fall of Lady Society (GB), ridden by R.P. Cleary on the approach to the straight. Evidence was heard from R.P. Cleary and also from S.B. Kelly rider of Dancingatmidnight. Having considered the evidence and viewed a recording of the race, the Stewards were satisfied that the fall of Lady Society (GB) was caused accidentally by clipping heels and took no further action.
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Daredevil Day, trained by Joseph G. Murphy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly in running.
The Stewards fined Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, trainer of Osuileabhain (GB), €200 for failing to lodge the passport in time for this horse, which resulted in the horse being withdrawn from this race. The passport was required under Rule 90(d).
337F2 Winter Series At Dundalk Apprentice HcapDavid Geraghty, trainer of Clare Harrier, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on 2nd January 2014 that his charge was subsequently found to have mucus in his lungs.
337G Happy Christmas To All Our Patrons M'dnW.J. Lee, rider of Gocheck, trained by T.Hogan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got struck into in running.
